COVID-19 - Self Isolation Advice to Patients
Posted on 7 Oct 2020
We ask that all patients respect the self-isolation guidance if they believe they have symptoms of COVID-19.
- If you have symptoms of COVID-19, however mild, self-isolate for at least 10 days from when the symptoms started and arrange to have a test.
- If you are not experiencing symptoms, but have tested positive for COVID-19, you must self-isolate for at least 10 days, starting from the day the test was taken. If you then develop symptoms during this isolation period, the 10-day isolation period re-starts from the day your symptoms developed.
- After 10 days, if you still have a temperature you should continue to self-isolate and seek medical advice.
If in doubt, always refer to the government website.
If you have coronavirus symptoms:
- a high temperature
- a new, continuous cough
- a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste
Get a test, and stay at home.
